While learning something on Deep Fritz 14, I came across this window (some sort of analysis?).

I am a novice to computer chess. Please help me in understanding what the columns represent in layman's terms.

Thanks,

Vivek

I believe that's cloud analysis.

Local, sometimes dedicated, computers use multiple engines to analyze a position then store the results so anyone can access them. It's useful because you can have this analysis without using your computer's resources.

Oh, and the columns

1: Main line according to the computer's calculation.

2: The evaluation of the position given in 1/100 of a pawn. E.g. 0.21 is about 1/5th of a pawn.

3: How many ply deep the main line has been calculated. An example of 3 ply would be 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3

4: The engine used

5: The date

6: I don't know :p

Thank you leiph18.
