The only unfortunate thing about that list is no one is playing for south dakota and I might become a South Dakota resident soon.

I am home schooled and I almost won, but was stopped by two cheaters (both were caught on chess.com) I played in a State qulifier

I played 1 cheater lost, but he was caught, and I qualified
They caught both cheaters, but didn't change the standings for me 
A tournament, winner takes all blitz tie break. but they did it online so I lost to a cheater and I didn't get first because of it, someone else went even though we should have had a sudden death (which I would have won, he is like 1200-1400 rated online) these factors amount others.

Tbf getting 2nd hurts when something like a trip to the Barber or Denker is on the line
i placed 2nd for years when trying to get to the Barber, always barely missing out on 1st. It sucked. I’ve been more fortunate in getting to the Denker tho xD

A number of states (not all) provide some support to defray part of the cost of attending the Denker (the player still has to pay for part of it), but I haven't heard of any state giving monetary prizes for any of the places in their Denker qualifier.

Yeah and mine was Barber which is even less likely anyway...
Tip: if you want to get into the denker, don't play in california.
There are very, very hard people there.

mass Alabama to the list. Really any state that doesn’t have anyone above 2200 (altho Imma try to get 2200 at the Denker) competing for the nomination is where you wanna be, otherwise the titles players are gonna win it
