it used to be good. but they took "kid friendly" too seriously and replaced "chess-friendly" with "kid-friendly".
I think that you can attract children and younger children to play chess. But to do this not in the form of a computer game, but with real chess. This is necessary for visualization.
I'm a parent of young children who use ChessKids. It's very good and has good parental controls and great kid friendly content. It's great fun. However, I'd say it is targeting under 10s (roughly). I think kids around middle school age, say roughly 10/11 upwards (depends on maturity) will start to feel it is too restrictive and may want something more 'grownup' like Chess.com. For under 10 ChessKids is great.
Agreed. I remember my daughter had a problem that it froze at the end of one of the tutorials so she couldn't level up. She couldn't get passed Queen 2 (or something like that).

I have tried chesskid (I am over 18) and found it was very restricted. You can't play variants only normal chess 5+1 10+1 15+1 and 30 minutes, and my children use chess.com because they like to play 3 minute and bughouse together

I am a kid and chess kid is for babys. Parents should allow kids to make an account . also pay attention to what there kids do online

so many people i know that are like 10,11,12 or even 7 ,8, or 9 are on this site by lying about their age
there is no age limit
and by looking at the forums you can tell there are many 5-6 year olds here
wasnt the discussion that it is safe for kids to play here with parental supervision
