yeah
10+5 should be a standard time format

I play pretty exclusively 15|10 (2000 +/- 150) and frequently have to wait a couple of minutes to get paired. I have tried custom rapid time controls and have abandoned waiting to be paired after almost 5 minutes.
Certainly at higher ratings, I don't think that there is a large enough pool of players to add new time controls between the offered 10|0 and 15|10.

My year of diamond membership ended at the end of March and I've fed back that the reason why was this issue. Another site has it as standard and I found myself playing there and dragging the pgn there to analyse. So what's the point of staying here?

I'd add 15|5. In about three months there's an official (Dutch, KNSB) tournament planned in my region that uses these time controls for their rapid tournament. Kind of wondered why this one wasn't part of the presets.

Agree 100% with 10|5 being added. If it's not relevant, why was it used in Pogchamps. Why is it standard on other sites. Why is it such a problem to give people another time option.

play in a 15+10 or a 10+0 arena

"(10+5) the ideal online time format, common in other sites, the perfect spot between 10+0 and 15+10"
This isn't difficult to grasp. It's like, we're just asking for a cheeseburger. And your response is "you don't need one, just be happy with a hamburger. Or eat a wheel of cheese."

Chess.com could offer every time control possible, the issue is that it has to be balanced with how quickly players can get paired.
Custom time controls are a great idea on paper; in reality, at higher ratings particularly, it can take ages to get paired. It is not practical to have lots of time controls too close together.

We aren't asking for "every time control." Just 10|5.
10|0 is the most popular format. 10|5 would therefore also be a popular format, certainly in the top 3 of increment formats. I posted in another thread, if you project it using math, 10|5 would be more popular than at least 4 formats that are already on the site. So if you're so against adding 1 more format, replace one of those with 10|5.

I've given this some extra thought and I think the best solution in terms of user experience is to add a feature to the webapp and mobile apps with which users can add one or two custom play configurations / buttons (consisting of time control, rating range, etc.) for themselves with their own preferences in addition to the presets. This way we don't have to repeatedly input custom settings and users who don't need this feature won't be bothered with it.

Repeatedly creating the custom settings is not as annoying as having to wait minutes to be matched with a player of your rating range, so a preset is the only practical solution.

I agree too. I think 10+5 should replace 2+1. Does anybody even play such a slow bullet time control?

In my opinion the ideal online time format, common in other sites, the perfect spot between 10+0 and 15+10. I, and I assume a lot of other people, are tired of getting flagged in 10 minute games. The custom search for 10+5 games takes too long. I'm sure if it was made standard a lot of people would play it.
people are flagged in rapid?
