Is there such a thing? I'm sure it would help many people to prevent getting muted. happy.png

Honestly even I want this list. Sometimes I don't even know that the usage of a particular word is prohibited

For example, you can type out the term for female genitalia but not it's male counterpart ...

You can't cite certain passages of the KJV bible because it uses the archaic word for 'donkey'.

You can't use normal, absolutely non-offensive idioms and figures of speech because they contain a booboo word. I understand that the staff wishes Chess.com to remain family-friendly, but some restrictions just come across as arbitrary and stupid.

You cannot expect moderators to read and evaluate all posts, that is why it has been automated. A static list will not help: the list will need update as people start using alternative abusive words.

Giraffe pimp...

I'm not arguing that it shouldn't be an automated process, but it would only be fair to know when exactly you trespassed a rule ...

Imagine the police coming to your place, arresting you, but never even mention to you what exactly you did wrong. That's how I sometimes feel about this website's moderation policy.

Danke , vielen Dank

A list would be nice, but it'll never happen. People would just start using the number instead of the word. For example, "Go #3 yourself!"

a list with numbers replacing certain letters could possibly work i suppose

All forbidden words have synonyms. A list would only encourage use of unlisted synonyms.

That's a very logical thought - hence, the site will never adopt it... ;-)

Actually, that is how the police work in America. When you get to court, then they have to tell you what your accused of. But your point is still valid, How can it be a law/rule if it isn't spelled out somewhere?

Persecution methods in the US might be what inspired this American website to conduct justice. Maybe it's what they are used to?

Bots don't seem to work against foul language in Spanish.

This is needed. Also consistency. I was muted by a bot a few days ago for for attempting to post a reply with a quotation. The offending word was in the quotation and remains on the site. The posted who used the word is not muted.

Hilarious. I mean, of course not for you, but still.

I agree that it can be annoying. It has happened to me a couple of times when quoting a post.  I remember seeing a pop-up telling me my post was blocked for violating community standards. It wasn't hard to figure out what had set it off.
