I have a similar problem. I'm rated at only 1000, but when I do a game review I frequently get results between 1600 and 1800. I don't even remember ever being told that I played under an 1100 level. For my Daily games, I also play above my rating every single time.
In the past, I have asked people about this, and was told that it has to do with tilting. If you have been playing on a win streak, you will be paired with people who are at a similar rating, but are on a losing streak. This way, it is very hard to increase your ratting, and you will almost always be rated lower than you play.
There were several times where I have played for too long, and got on terrible losing streaks, once even losing 200 points in one night. I recovered them the next day, but lost them again a few nights latter. Now I don't play much rapid anymore simply because even though I am supposed to be playing 1,000's because of my low rating, I will end up playing people who are like me - very underrated.
The way the website is designed, it is very easy to lose rating, and very hard to gain it. That way, you will play more games, see more pop ups, be online more, and be more likely to buy a membership.
Though this may seem sort of strange to say, I still do my fare share of watching games, particularly the games of premium members. When they play, they seem to have different tilt cycles than normal players, and in my experience, win more often that non premium players. Though I don't have much proof for this theory, it would explain many member's being as under rated as they are.
I'm simply tired of the unfair tilts, and losing games where I have played like a 1600 to a player rated 1100.
As a more direct solution, you could simply make a new account, but I still doubt that they would rank you fairly.
*I'm really glad that you are playing so well Hugh. I remember the days when I could beat you XD.*
I consider my rating (Rapid) to be very bad. I made this account before I started taking chess seriously, and now I consistently play at a 1600-1950 level rating, yet I am still stuck at around 1360. To place my rating at it's proper level, I would have to win around 80 games, which I don't have the time to do. Can Chess.com give me another rating trial, so that I can play chess against fair opponents and not be embarrassed about my rating? Thank you.
