If a knight is represented by a horse, then why is the fool (fou) by a Bishop? Should we not have simplified it to an Elephant?
I did take notice that condal has a helmet. Where is the original peice?
Reasons: support international player belief, and/or to protest the pediphile Bishops.
The pieces took on court-like names many years ago, and the current terminology is standardized in English. The current symbols have been standardized for over one hundred years. This would be an inquiry for FIDE, not chess.com.
Was just trying to find out why the condal theme has the bishop as a knights helm, which admittedly is much more interesting. Wish chess.com had more options, would love to see elephants or lewis chessmen set(although that doesn’t translate well to 2d chess board). Could have a 2d pixel version of lewis chessmen set, that would be really cool
