Block feature not working in Live Chess Chat - Fix the Spam

Seriously. Introduce a 5-second delay in the live chat. For the love of god. It's a literal cesspool.

People are spamming nonstop making it unusable. To make things worse, the block feature doesn't even work to stop their messages from appearing in the chat. It's almost as if you want your site to be toxic and unusable. Please, lift a finger already.

Live chat where? On the top games?

RolloOrollo

Yes, Live chat on the top games. Even when you block spammers, their spam still appears making chat unusable. Some very autistic individuals will spam endlessly. If there was a delay, they would stop.

RolloOrollo

A dynamic delay, where accounts can post at 5-second intervals until they start abusing it (by literally posting every 5 seconds) and when they do, they get a 30-second delay. This would make chat actually usable in top games.

Also, limiting the amount of emotes per post to 5 would definitely help. Walls of giant emotes make reading chat impossible as well.

I understand that it is annoying. I did look in on those games a few times today and kicked a few people.

Your suggestions seems logical to me but I have no idea if Chess.com is doing anything with regards to monitoring that chat.

RolloOrollo

It really doesn't need active monitoring. A passive system would work fine.

I guess it requires that chess.com give a crap about its users first though, so I see your point.
