Bug? Can't withdraw from daily team matches

Has this bug been acknowledged by staff. It’s been quite some time now, and they’re usually pretty quick about fixing bugs. Not only can I not remove a player before the match starts, but I can’t remove myself! Can non-admin players remove themselves from a match before it starts? I hope this is not a new feature to stop strong-handed admins from removing weak players from a match. And why is there only one little game board on the roster instead of two, in between the two opponents?

You can remove yourself from upcoming events, same other players can remove themselves.... And yes it looks like a new change by chess staff ... 🤷🏻‍♂️

I tried, but I don’t see how to remove myself?

Hope this would be helpful Jim ...👍

This is only possible for matches that 1- are configured to appear on the club's home page and 2- have a start date. I haven't found a way to withdraw from games without start date, but I might have missed it.

Ali….your diagram is so good, but my computer skills are so bad, that I can’t find that page or picture. I can see all the players and their opponents lined up on the team match page. I can see a list of all my team’s open matches. But I can’t find the page or material you so nicely show.

@surfsnook: Go to the main page of your club. Right from the "Info" section there should be one for "Upcoming events": There you can still withdraw yourself from team matches.

If there isn't an "Upcoming events" section, you need to activate it in the "Club settings" menu.

Ximoon

@Tournamentix as I'm saying, in this section are only shown upcoming matches with a start date. If the match wasn't configured to have one, there's no equivalent info with a button to quit the match.

Even if I can imagine a change to the match system preventing admins from removing players, I can't believe chess.com would implement on purpose the fact that the players themselves can't quit if they changed their minds.

Ali….thank you. I never knew what those symbols meant. Very interesting. Now I understand how to withdraw “me.”

why do you think c.c has made it so admins cannot remove players from a match the admin has created. Is it to stop strong handed, aggressive, “win at all cost”  admins from removing low rated players. I rarely see any admin do that.

I like to be able to remove a player who has  75% timeouts.

So that's why it is better to open new matches with start date ... wink.png

I just asked on the notes page and Martin (Mod) thinks (?) it's a bug which staff will correct.

I asked staff about this earlier today, so they should be looking into it.

@Tricky_Dicky: We all know this. He has posted the same eight days ago in this forum.
Until then nothing has changed yet.

I mostly like to remove my own strong players to have a balanced match, and currently I can't, which I don't find fair in many cases.

@Ali-808 I tend to agree, but that's a different story wink.png

Welcome Jim always .....

Well,

I think yes chess staff make it for Team admins who, always try to play matches for win win ..... It's important to win no doubt...but there must be removal option to remove those players which tend to timeout and damage all works of players who win their matches ....

Yes right Bernd, if they has to change it , they should have changed it yet .... But not changing it back, so it's clear that this is permanent change now 🤦🏻‍♂️

surfsnook

More importantly, I like to be able to remove my players to balance a match and make it more fair for the opposing team. Especially with my smaller clubs in smaller, friendly matches, when a 1900 player has joined when the match first opens, and then the other team only has a few 1200s join in the following days. The 1900 player meant no harm when he first joined, and doesn’t look at the match again until he gets a noticed it started.

@Ali-808: Not sure about this as @Tricky_Dicky got today and once more the answer from @Martin_Stahlthat "it's a bug which staff will correct".

You're of course right, as longer as it won't be fixed, as less likely it will be ...

Ali-808

Hmm hope for the best 🤝

That's not how it works. It's almost certainly a bug and the site has to verify it, assign to a developer, figure out the cause, fix that and test the fix to see if it fixes the issue and doesn't create additional problems.
