I tried, but I don’t see how to remove myself?

For removing yourself, you can go to your homepage, and click on club events. That will open up which events you are signed up for. You can withdraw that way. The only way I see a work around for other players, and it's certainly not a sure thing, but you can message them and ask them to remove themselves from the match.

Thanks Commando Poppins.

ImperfectAge

This is a big problem for leagues that require admins to remove multi team players, such as the USTCL.

Is there an ETA for the fix?

Commando-Poppins

It's a huge headache which I'm not even sure if the chess.com Developers realize.

14 days later and still not fixed. My guess is this is deliberate.

I've just submitted another bug report. The more that go in the more likely to get a reaction.

blackfirestorm

I'll fire off an email as well. Cheers Tricky

Staff are already working on a ticket related to that and the ability of members that have joined to withdraw from the match page.

Additional tickets aren't going to speed up the work.

Thanks for the confirmation that it is actually being worked on, Martin, or at least in the queue.

This is yet another occasion when new code has been released without sufficent checking (if it is indeed a bug). It really makes group administration difficult when issues like this arise due to inadequate testing regime. And this one affects many league structures across the site which have single team paticipation requirements.

Thanks again,

I don't know specifically what happened in this case but it's likely code in some other part of the site, potentially permission related, impacted this, and not something directly related to matches. So, it may not have been obvious that the change could cause the issue and wouldn't have been tested on matches.

14 days Martin... 2 full weeks and this is still an issue though? These devs are on top dollars cuz they are supposed to know what they are doing. This may not be an issue for the majority of site members but that should not make a difference.

I bet if 1000s of people were being logged out of live ... I mean "Play" then this would have been dealt with on day 1

Martin_Stahl

The week it was reported, a lot of staff were at a meetup, so there was some backlog on things when they returned.

Yes, it looks to be somehow overwritten by some new code ... If you open a match page, you'll see the usual buttons for one moment and then they disappear.

blackfirestorm

How very convenient.

@Martin_Stahl: More precise, just in case, that this might interest someone: If I open a match page with Firefox on my phone the usual buttons appear for one moment and then they disappear.

The buttons to leave or for admins to remove members? I can test later too but wanted to verify.

Tricky_Dicky

both, Martin

Commando-Poppins

Appreciate your diligent assistance Martin.

Yes it is!
