Bug on chess.com?

Sort:
Plimsol
The problem has not been fixed. I am continuing to lose daily games on time when I have made a move. As I have repeatedly said, it is not possible to “make the move again” so I wish Mr Stahl would stop saying that.

So far I have lost over 500 rating points, with more losses still to come. I can get the rating points back over time, so the most frustrating thing is that I have been playing in some tournaments for months, or even years, and it’s all been pointless because my opponents in the final round have just been gifted wins by chess.com.

And please don’t tell me to report it and it will be sorted. I have reported it, and been completely ignored.

It's probably your Opponent's turn to move, not yours. At least that's how it appeared to me when I got those weird notification showing myself and my last move. After they repeated their moves, the games went back to functioning normal.

Why did you alone lose points from bugs?

Mathematically, both players have equal chance in losing points (That means, you have 50% chance in gaining points).

Ouch. Have a little empathy.

You are missing Plimsol's main point. It's not about the rating points. He's invested huge amounts of time into playing these tournaments. We're talking about a titled player who is passionate about the game.  Daily tournaments last months or years. And now the results are completely screwed by this bug. Take a look at Plimsol's account - pages of tournament games timed out - all that effort just wasted.

I'm playing in the final of a tournament for the first time, having made it through several rounds over months to get here. Sure, the prize is some coloured pixels, but it'll be a big deal for me if I win. I've been checking and re-checking my daily games to make sure it's not my turn. If I lost that game due to some bug I'd be more than bit annoyed.

I have the opposite problem. I made a move, it hasn’t appeared on the board but now it’s my opponent s turn even though it shows his move was the last on the board. I’ve tried to make the move again but as it’s not my turn I can’t
Plimsol
That’s the same problem.

It's the same problem but from the other player's perspective. That are those players whose moves have been swallowed by yesterday's rollback.

Luckily for me my opponents have been able to make their move again so our games returned to normal.

I still have the problem with the same 4 games.

These should be fixed.

It was fixed for a little while, but now it's back in force.

Any moves made while the bugged code was in place will be broken. Either the opponent will need to move if it shows the wrong side to move, the move will need to be remade if the move played isn't there, or staff will need to be involved to fix.

On the latter, a ticket to support is the best way, though I've been referring some directly when I come across them. I believe there is some dev work going on to try and do it all from the backend but may not be in time to stop some games being lost on time, in which case a ticket to support will resolve it.
