can someone explain how the Drills are supposed to work?

In the Learn section of this site there are Drills. I tried one (Scotch trap) and after I did what I was supposed to do (take advantage of the weak f7 to gain a piece) it seems to expect me to play the rest of the game to its conclusion. Is this what is supposed to happen? To me, that is not a Drill. I didn't expect this and it happened at an inconvenient time. If each drill expects me to play a whole game then I need to know that, so that I can plan to do them when I don't have something else I need to do. Thanks in advance for an answer!

:P OK, you comedians...lol...I really would like help from someone (Martin Stahl?) to explain procedure for the Drills in the learning section of this site. Yes, I know what a Drill is. I've been in several different kinds. And there is always some kind of leader of the Drill to say when the drill is over because the objective has been achieved. Not so in these Drills here. I don't know if I'm supposed to play the whole game through, or quit after I do the part the drill is about, or if it's entirely my choice. Nothing ever says the drill is at an end. Also, I got a drill checked off just because I LOOKED at it, without even doing it. Now that the jokes are over, I'd like some real information from someone who has done or created these.

you should play it through, since they are supposed to simulate real games (like normal drills) and give you practice IF such a scenario (or a similar one) happens. I don't know why it automatically checks off once you look at it, but it just does.

at least... I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to work

The drill's mechanism is actually quite simple: A trigger switch activates an electric motor, which in turn drives a rotating chuck. Numerous accessories can fit into in the chuck, allowing the drill to bore holes, drive screws, and sand, polish, and grind a wide variety of materials.

Karen, In the 70s my father only had a hand operated drill. I can remember drilling through a 4" by 2" timber.

The big question is...do these models assist you in Chess development?

Which begs the question- What is the expected ELO of a hand drill in comparison to say, a Ryobi?
