Interesting !! It does say No Ads ???
chess.com need to stop the ads. This is unethical bait and switch.

Yes it does, and chess.com force ads on you whether you want them or not. According to chess.com
"At present, we do leave space to link to events or certain products on our website"
So they actually admit that they are leaving space to force ads on you. Every gold, platinum, diamond and friends & family member needs to be complaining to get these ads removed.

Read it again. NO ADS. I don't care if it's partner ads or not. I paid for NO ADS.

Right, and where am I supposed to find this? It's buried in some forum? No there it is, buried as troubleshooting. No, not acceptable. No ads means no ads. Because it's buried deep in some support site does not make it ok or acceptable.

I get it, man, but it is CHESS.com
Igi but they still gotta promote their products and stuff on their site I guess
ads are when you're paid to promote another company

ads = advertisements regardless of where they come from. If they're trying to sell you something, that's an ad.

They don't promise no ads to non-members. Of course they're going to try and sell memberships. However, once the membership is purchased a contract is in place between chess.com and myself that they will not display ads. There's no little * that says "Oh, we will actually show you ads, but they're our ads". No ads is no ads. If that doesn't sink in then I can say it a little slower for you, or maybe there's a language barrier?

bro I was just saying, no need to be so rude
god
im just saying I agree with you, but idk you can sue em if you want, you do you
im too broke for a diamond membership so idc
have fun

I agree that paying for no ads should mean no ads.
Although, there seems to be a slight upside to this: you can close those particular ads by clicking on the X on the top right corner.
Also, I recommend simply installing an ad-blocker, if "no ads" is your main reason for a membership ... All internet users should have an ad-blocker installed, for general browser security.

"Please note that all members will occasionally see relevant (chess-related) advertising on the Chess.com"
Have to agree with the op.
But buyers beware.

Reminds me of the hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Foreman: "But the plans were on display…”
Dent: "On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
Foreman: “That’s the display department.”
Dent: "With a flashlight.”
Foreman: “Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
Dent: "So had the stairs.”
Foreman: “But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
Dent: "Yes, yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.""

There has always been a little * that says that premium members still will see site banners and event notices.
I paid for diamond membership and was promised no ads, yet what am I seeing? A huge at at the top of the page touting some web browser or other that I have no interest in. This needs to stop. This is unethical to promise no ads if I pay the "no ads" ransom and then I am forced to put up with ads.
