I recomend a new rule that deals with 'necroposting', which is basically attempting to make a new comment and restart an old forums., for example, lets say 1 year later someone discovers this forum (exagerurated but it's just for the point). They would post a comment that's not exactly relevent, such as just a simple hi! or saying something random. the people who originally contributed are then forced to come back here to deal with notifs. So I really think necro posting should be disallowed.
Cleaning up the community

except that this is on the internet, so instead you could hire a hacker to wipe the entirerty of chess.com and then start it from scratch.

Ok, so we all know that the chess.com community has been... err... not so great as of 2021.
I want to put in a set of new rules such that it won't be too bad anymore. Some of them may be too strict, some may be too light, you can state your opinion.
- Spam forums like "pls friend me" or "make this the biggest thread on chess.com" should either be locked or immediately be moved to off topic.
- Threads that have "served their purpose," like when one asks a simple question which has been answered and the OP has indicated that they understand, should be locked.
- Don't get me wrong: I think the bongcloud is a great opening. But in all honesty, troll threads like this one, if abusive should be locked, and if just "troll", funny, should be moved to off-topic.
- Advertisement=lock and possibly even mute if excessive.
- Ability to report threads for lock, and the more requests, the higher the priority for staff.
- Things not related to chess should be in off-topic.
- Bumping old threads from a long time ago should be discouraged unless you have something to add to the conversation.
- When submitting a bug report, preferably set a format for it. For example:
Summary of the problem:
Steps to reproduce:
1.
2. (etc)
Expected behavior:
Frequency:
Operating system:
Browser:
Additional Information:
Photos:
That's all I have to say... for now. I'll edit this post if needed
Good... The bongcloud meme needs to die tbh

ngl tho depending on the person the Bongcloud can be deadly (ie. in Hikaru's hands the bongcloud is a beast).

Stop. Plz. (stop it get some help meme plays)
Cleaning up community? Sounds nostalgic, but I hope it doesn’t turn into a cult.
Anyways, I think users who spams with consecutive "a" "e" "h" etc letters only comments should be immediately IP banned.
a little harsh, maybe just a long mute+a warn
That was an exaggeration humor. Pardon my wry humor.
