Dragging pieces after the game

This annoys me. The game is finished and i reflect it. I have a question, touch the piece, try to move it, bang! you cant do that. It is the same at other sites. I first need to press buttons. Why did you develop such a complex GUI? All these blinking thingies (after i press the analysis button) but i can not move the pieces on that board after the game.
Just look at the real world. There is a wooden chess board and i can take the pieces and move them. To illegal squares if i want. I can add pieces if i want, i can take away pieces if i want. I can setup illegal positions, just for fun. And if i move a piece no things start to blink constantly if i dont want that.
Allowing that kind of thing would be more complex from a programming standpoint. I use SCID vs PC for offline analysis and you can't do what you are suggesting on it either. You have to go into the board setup to add/remove pieces or to drag them to different squares.
It is a standard and I would be surprised if many programs allow that kind of manipulation. I know some of the online tablebases allow it, but they are a bit different.
The place where it might make sense is the analysis board, but for a lot of people, setting it up like that would be more confusing.

Shredder chess online endgame database for example allows free moving. It has the most pleasant chess GUI i know. So, it is doable.
