I was muted last night for 24 hours. Was unmuted after 20. The cause of the mute was a post in another forum referenced in this thread that I went to and quoted with changes as a manner of lodging a complaint.

I just wrote a long description that included the staff member's flaccid response, although I am thankful that my 24 mute ended after only 18 hours. My lengthy post earned another warning.

I give up. The machine (a site that empowers incompetent bots) is winning.

You may have given up but the site hasn't. They'll catch you again on one of these sleepy days when you quote another of those comments carelessly.

But remember, it's your fault. It's always been and will always be.

Actually TOS should be modified:

You are responsible for what you quote because we're incapable of designing a proper uniform filter. Still we will let you quote since we're unable to implement a permanent reference mechanism (when the topic gets moved, deleted, or posts before are deleted etc).

We therefore give you free will and we will punish you for it. Thank you for your support

This puts them in omnipotent company that is supposed to be far less mistake-prone wink.png.

But they thank us for our support instead of coercing it. That makes everything ok.

It's a thin line, yes ...

I’m gonna go create another complaint thread in the site feedback forum. Of course, no one reads those, especially staff.

You have to start "imma" and end with 'uwu' instead. Little wonder staff doesn't listen to you

Or you can go on the app. Type 4 curse words minimum in the title and swear in the OP. Mods will have no choice but to look at the post a type [removed].

But the site does function - it just doesn't function the way you want it to, and you refuse to accept that but go on and on an on about it, keep behaving the same way and keep getting the consequences and then complaining about those consequences, blaming the site and never your own choices.

Chess.com lets you rant and rave like a lunatic at them. You have zero appreciation for that.

your definition of 'function' differs from many here. for four months now, i can't see my topics or groups on my home page. i can't be the only one where this 'function' is unavailable.

many people notice the fails, but do not post. your response(s) suggest that people that post about the fails are troublemakers. one of the things i wrote in another topic is that i post these things because i like the site. when people like you, as staff, write that you will no longer respond to issues, the poor behaviour is yours. don't forget, erik used to ask us what the members wanted. now it seems things are done-or not done-with little concern about the functions you state are fine.

as far as your 'lunatic' claim, not once have i written about site fails where i was wrong. take your armchair psychology elsewhere.

now some alerts are not appearing.

there is also a bug where some vc games don't show up on the alerts.

also, some posts here have disappeared. notably, the ones describing/showing the difference in what is allowed using the phone ap vs. a laptop.

how absolutely lame for staff to delete those posts, instead of recognizing the issue and making an attempt to fix the problem.

that's cc now. don't complain, no matter how bad we messed up. and david writes that the site functions...

AlCzervik

*edit*

those posts that i thought were deleted? they reappeared after my last post. going to this topic prior to posting showed the last post seven days ago.

but the site functions...

I remember writing to staff about this post-disappearing bug three years ago; it's not a surprise that it still hasn't been fixed. I would usually complain a lot about the site being broken, but I stopped after the 502 errors when I realised this site could get a whole lot worse. meh

Now I feel lucky if I'm able to log in.

Yes, we should post a thank you to the server gods every time we log in...

Ilampozhil25

thats straight up wrong

first off permanently logged in exists (ask me)

also.... the server used to be problematic (but during times at which i wasnt there) but now literally no one experiences problems

i dont know why some people try to hate a website, for all we know chess.com couldve made the service paid so feel lucky we dont need to pay to access chess.com

no matter how much i feel you just want to hate chess.com for no reason, this is true

way too much illegal stuff is allowed on the app in the forums (way too many consecutive posts, straight up swearing)

also, funny how this is an extreme minority being extremely loud huh

I don't play games here, but for the last week, the forums main page has only been displaying its "skeleton" mode where it doesn't display the first three threads in each forum. The site does this when they're trying to shed loads on the servers. So, obviously there are still problems with the servers...

AlCzervik

e, the site functions.

just ask david.
