There's nothing I'm able to provide you that would prove it. However, the bug is fixed in code and waiting to be deployed. surprise

This is fixed now

Thanks, any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

So, from what I can tell, staff acknowledged it's happening for you, however the particular use case and resultant reload is one that is very low impact. Other features, plans, and bug fixes are higher priority at this point.

Thanks for your quick follow-up. So I'm not misunderstanding, to clarify, is that just the conclusion you've drawn from whatever info you could get, or is that what was specifically relayed to you?

That's from seeing the information about the reported issue.

Right so that muddies the waters completely. Here are screenshots of the emails I received.

First, it's not just happening for me or they wouldn't have confirmed it a bug. And to say it's 'very low impact' basically says they don't care about UX, where on top of everything else that's wrong with the page, excess data is being used for all the unnecessary reloads. Not to mention the only reason I'm even using the page is because they thought it more important for the Analysis Board here to copy Lichess's design than simply improve the existing one or give us the option of preferred layout.

Second, this essentially re-confirms once again that it actually still is an issue/bug whatever the priority/impact level, so what was incorrect about my cop-out assessment? Or is it standard practice to gaslight members?

Finally, if it's such a low priority then why was it worked on immediately to be fixed as soon as possible? Can you see the legitimate basis of frustration here - nothing's making any sense.

My understanding is that the issue doesn't happen during regular use and requires longer term running that the vast majority of members there just are not doing. So, while it can be reproduced the method and timing to cause the issue is not something that is a high priority fix. Initially it may have been thought it was more serious, but I can't really speak to the decision process later on.

Unless 1 hour is considered long-term running then, respectfully, your understanding is wrong. You cannot reuse the page after an hour regardless of usage, and as I've just discovered today the 3 hour window I previously mentioned is only when loading a FEN/PGN otherwise the auto-reload happens after 1 hour.

And there's no consistency in the priority argument: Flags have changed appearance 2 or 3 times in the last 6 months or so - was this a top priority for members? How many members were complaining about Game Review/Analysis before the recent changes that have been met with backlash? And the pre/post-game animations with confetti - was confetti really a high priority member issue?

For me it's continuously saying that game review is unavailable and 'they're working on it'. I cancelled my recurring membership on this, because I realised when I'm watching the Youtubers play they never have to wait for a game review. So they're clearly not working on it, they're just selectively denying it to less high profile members.

The site is not selectively deciding not to load have review. I have rarely seen the red banner and when I do it's usually when I have a spotty connection.

@kinglenoir new code, design changes, and other projects and/or bugs can have much higher priority than some other bug or request. The site has to decide what gets worked on based on a number of different factors. Sometimes that means things go to a backlog and may not get attention for a while, if ever

It's been an ongoing thing for almost the entirety of my 12-month subscription, and is not related to the connectivity of my internet, as it's occurred in multiple locations with different providers.

It was literally the only reason I signed up and it loaded maybe 50% of the time, so, meh.

@Martin_Stahl c'mon man, that's just blanket politics-speak for 'we do whatever the hell we want whenever the hell we want' - I wonder how many paying customers have to be lost before that mentality changes. And let's not pretend that had this report/request come from Magnus or Hikaru or even Levy, it wouldn't have been fixed immediately.

With the addition of time spent on these forums it's crystal clear now that what members need, let alone want, is at best an afterthought - they simply don't give af. So to that same sentiment, unless they're in fact being scapegoated, staff/devs/etc can go eff themselves.

As for you, well you could've chosen to ignore my messages like the other cowards but you didn't, so for that at least I thank you.

bill_eev

Same for me. Sure OK it's he a bug but did anyone ASK FOR THESE CHANGES?
The number of pissed off threads and posts suggest not.
EPIC FAIL.

You don't represent what members of this community broadly want, other people do not care about this irrelevant bug, only you... and the vast majority of people would have just accepted the answer provided them by now... because, you know, the answer makes perfect sense and is describing something completely typical in engineering at any company.

...smh just couldn't help yourself could you.

Since you're obviously still salty about not getting your "win" before, let me make this crystal clear for you, you sad, pathetic, virtue-signaling rat of a human being: I do not give a s*it about your entire existence. If tomorrow it turned out you choked to death on all that hatred you have for a random stranger on the internet because they wouldn't bow down to your overinflated sense of opinion, the only thing I'd feel would be convenience.

STOP STALKING ME.
