As to color allocation. The player most due black gets black and over the long run, you'll get close to 50/50, though you can get strings of the same color.

You’re not obligated to accept every challenge you know. If the opponent is high rated, you can just decline.
Looks like Chess.com won't make life any better for me The 800 elos I play against are like making so many top engine moves and even when I'm rated 903 in Blitz I can people who are like 988 or near 1000 rated and I have lost 5 games in a role because of this. To the Chess.com game finder, Screw you.
