The old version worked perfectly fine, and this new one is absolutely garbage. I'm cancelling my diamond membership. I'm not paying almost 20 dollars a month for a feature they decided to break for no reason.
New review presentation is awfull
The fact that they won't change it back, despite overwhelming negative reception says volumes about their respect for their community imo.
I have this great idea: keep the old one! saves money, time and effort, and people like it. what's not to like?
exactly. old one was perfect, i might be wrong, but is it really that hard to tevert to the old one?
I think perhaps some internal politics and ego is involved. it's common in dev teams, and it never helps
What happened to the rewind button that used to let me try a new move and get feedback on it? That was a useful feature; I felt like I learned a lot from the feedback I got when trying different moves this way. Yes, I know I can simply move a piece and it slips into analysis mode, but the former interface let me do both. Now we have fewer options. Sigh.
I agree with someone else's comment that the white bubble for the coach's feedback is jarring against the black background in dark mode. Not a fan of the new interface. Please change these two aspects.
I'm surprised they're still rolling this out to people, they've reverted me back to the original for which I'm very thankful, it would be good to see them admit the new one is awful and switch back for everyone.
Can someone please explain why move 30 is blunder

30. ... Qxf2+ 31 Kh1 h6 and black is threatening to take the queen and if white tries to save the queen, mate or material loss is coming.
I agree that the new Review layout and function is worse than it was before, but Game Review in reality has always been terrible. It's much better to just review using the engine. And watch for big eval bar shifts to see where you went wrong. I do agree that Game Review is fun, and now it's less fun, but as a tool for improvement, it was never good. (Spoken as a guy who can't frickin improve.) The coach's tips in the bubble are so useless, in any version. I am waiting for AI to improve those. One day it could be great. I think the most and pretty much only valuable way to use Game Review is to have the engine let you know when you made a mistake and give you a chance to look for better moves. And you can do that with the new version same as the old. All else is much ado about nothing.

I don't get it. If you are in Game Review or Analysis, it tells you exactly why a move is a blunder. That's the whole point. There is no need to ask somebody.
I've just cancelled my diamond membership, putting this in the box for 'reason for leaving'.
Your new game review is astonishingly bad. You don't deserve to be paid for actively making a good thing worse.
I know, it is so bad. They are literally "gamifying" the site. This is supposed to "highlight" the important stuff for beginners, but I have to toggle back and forth between highlights, game review, and "self-analysis". If you have took notice, they also show your and your opponent's league when you start a game. They also had playing streaks, I believe. And had a partnership with Duolingo. All of this is to get new and "frozen" players to start playing and get diamond membership. In fact, if y'all really want to improve, DON'T USE GAME REVIEW. Review with a friend, a coach, or atleast the engine, but not with game review. In fact, reviewing on your own is also an option for higher rated players. Chess.com is trying to turn into a corperate rather than a great service. We have to do something
If you even lichess has a game review. It shows where you blundered, that's it. But it's completely free, and I recommend it for a quick review or for beginners. I will be trying to use that, it's better. Hopefully, you do to
The new review system is terrible. Please tell me how I can change it back.
It's not possible.

that's clearly not the case. I have been changed back to the (far superior) old review

God, I am enjoying being back on the old version SOOOO much! Still very sad it will be ripped away from us all soon, and then we will have only the new trash
that's clearly not the case. I have been changed back to the (far superior) old review
There were some members reverted until the feature is released to everyone but in general it's not something that is available to go back to the old version.

that is not good news. what I've seen of the new version doesn't impress me and there has been very little communication and engagement from the development team and decisionmakers
but, hey, does our opinion matter? all we do is pay your wages, after all

So i'm curious, working in IT, i'm wondering why you won't listen to your customers feedback.
Any insight on why this redesign is still going on even with the backlash ? Don't you think it will hurt the site more than it will help it ?
Sometimes, going back to the drawing board is better than releasing a half assed feature that no one likes, you know...
exactly. old one was perfect, i might be wrong, but is it really that hard to tevert to the old one?
Short answer: Yes, it's very difficult. Some people have worked on that for weeks and it takes a lot of effort to swallow one's pride and say: "ok, we made a huge mistake".
Also... they probably never consider pulling it back because "So much time, money and effort was put in to it already". I can imagine that feeling but... One of the first thing you learn in project management is that you should not care for the project itself. The moment it is clear that it will not improve anything, don't spend any new money on it and just pull the plug. Not even if the project is done for 95% because you will then spend another 5% on something that will not improve anything.
