I’d like to submit showing a player’s peak rating in parentheses and to show it next to a player’s current rating by their username. When a person taps on the peak rating it shows the date they reached that peak and links to that game played. This can somewhat suggest a player’s true strength in gameplay.

Peak ratings are not usually a players actual current strength in a pool, unless they are still improving.

I played someone that recently started out below 700 in 2021, then for most of 2022 stayed below 1000, they hit their peak of above 1200 in 2023 and carried out remainder of that year going into 2024 in rollercoaster fashion. That was their highest rated game so that lets me know of their potential especially when they could currently be rated a low 900

My highest OTB rating is 1648. I'm now at my floor of 1400. My peak rating shows that I have the potential to be better but my performance shows that I'm not that good currently. Peak ratings are influenced by a lot of different things, rating ups and downs are normal, and strength on any given day can be in a range. However, unless a player is improving, their peak isn't usually a good representation of their strength.

If they were able to maintain that strength long enough and over a sufficient number of games, then their potential may still be there, but recent performance is more indicative of current strength.
