PETITION TO CHANGE THE INTERFACE BACK

Chess.com has just changed the interface, and it really only makes things more difficult to navigate. I prefer the other one. Does anyone else share this perspective? Or do others truly enjoy this update?

The new interface has been out for months in the Beta and has been rolling out to the rest of the site over the past couple of weeks.

If you have specific feedback about the current version, please provide that. Updates to the new version could be possible, based on feedback, but going back is highly unlikely.

Why can't you go back? Why can't you ask us if we would like it before hand? I just like the old version better.

I hate the fact that my notifications are now tucked away down in the bottom left. Play and notifications used to be right next to each other so I could quickly see my Daily games and notifications by mousing over both. Why on earth would you move one to the other end of the page?! Indeed, why would you move anything to the bottom corner when the menus are top left (at least on my version). I see no way to customise the side bar to move those back up there, only to shuffle around what is already up there.

Yeah. Notifications are better near play. I really do not understand why chess.com felt the need to move it.

With the number of members, the site would never be able to make any changes, since there would be thousands of different opinions.

There are changes based on suggestions and feedback, but many things are going to driven by site requirements and goals.

Why was it changed though? Were there any technical bugs? Was it truly necessary, or just because chess.com feels like changing it for no reason every so often?

I don't know the specifics on the redesign. There was apparently a reason for it.

Okay. I would still like to know. If there was a real reason for it, maybe, but I wonder if it was just unnecessary.

Staff don't do work for no reason. A lot of staff time goes into design, development, and testing.

If the updates are unwanted and do not help the site function more efficiently, then yes, it is for no good reason
