I agree with this petition. I believe that having freedom of speech is an important right, and banning a particular group of people for doing absolutely nothing wrong just because of a few bad apples is completely unfair. I hope these outrageous petition threads you are referring to are locked immediately.

Bro had character development... 💀

Either that or he was being sarcastic

if someone does that someone else should make a petition to lock that petition down. clearly it will be from a place of malice whereas this is from a place of understanding

Bro pulled a 180 lol. Dude, you can’t just call anything that disagrees with you spam. I merely pointed out the foolishness of posts that try to link low Elo to trolling, which yes includes yours.

So I’m basically just saying that low elo rated players can discuss non chess related topics just as well as high elo players, and I’M the one being disingenuous?!

APersonWhoYoyos

Reminder that the only way to stop those threads ultimately is to stop commenting on them.

A moderator signed it btw lol, so good luck convincing people it's "just spam"

Mods out here being legends

People be disrespecting them like they were never 1000 elo or below. Also you just talked to a troll supporter.

chesswlh4

this is the best "petition" I've seen this is reasonable the ones made by honch are like dystopian site ban all rookies and give all 2000 + elo mods etc etc.

SacrificeEnPassanter
I agree, as a lower rated players myself on chess.com (about 400) and lichens (about 1100)

Was scrolling through comments, @APersonWhoYoyos please block @HangingPiecesChomper. he will turn the thread into “2400s suck” and “2400s blunder hanging pieces” and “i like to chomp on hanging pieces” and “i’m so awesome, i’m 2400 and chomp on hanging pieces”
GREGORYJ62

I make a petition to start another petition.

The UN established that three digit rated players are human beings, and therefore have rights to freedom of expression.

The only people agreeing with these statements are of those who have spent countless hours getting a high rating in chess and are too naive to realize that they were once a rookie as well. I agree with the statement completely, as these stupid claims should not be posted.

I was never on forums or anything else with social content, I focused solely on chess when I was a "rookie". I believe that's the main thing people should be focusing on in a CHESS WEBSITE

I agree with the original post here that these forums should be locked or removed, but they make an excellent point in the fact that A LOT of the people under X rating are just trolls who don't focus on chess. They should not be banned from forums just because of a few people though. That's just my opinion though; you don't have to agree. I do hope you get what I'm saying here though.

HangingPiecesChomper

trying to close another thread that you don't agree with is against free speech

He said that he doesn't like to close thoise thread, but rather, call out people who does those threads. He literally said it in the first page of the thread.

HangingPiecesChomper

how come the title of the thread is about locking other threads then?
