Please stop telling me to update my browser

Yes I still have a computer with Windows 7. I do have a laptop with Windows 11 too, but I actually like Windows 7, not having my computer controlled by Microsoft and having updates forced upon me and being made to restart it when I don't want to.

I do not need websites I visit trying to control what I have on my computer, including you telling me to update my browser (because I can't, Chrome won't run a higher version on Windows 7), nor Spotify who tell me my operating system is out of date.

Just stop it and do your job.

It's worked well enough so far so no need to break things.

Hmm. Well they put out instructions that are designed to help most of the users. Unfortunately, you are a special case and they can't keep extra staff and retro servers online to support the few people in your category.

So things will break.

You are probably going to be told to upgrade by both Microsoft and Chess.com every time you log in.

I'm not asking for extra staff or retro servers, my browser is the client and it uses the technology to run your software it has been using for the past however many years, and I don't know what new features you're trying to throw upon me that makes you suddenly break that.

What has Microsoft got to do with it either?
