Possibility of using analysis tool during Daily Chess games

I just found out that in daily games, if you click opening book > click the magnifiying glass icon for "analysis", then you access a window in which your own game is the subject of a live analysis. You get to see how the computer analyzes your position (as in +0,08 or -1.23 or whatever). I even got to try out some optional moves to see how they change the evaluation. All of this is possible with my actual position at this moment. Isnt this just cheating, getting all this chess computer information?? Why does the chess.com software allow this, and how can I best report this?

Yes, it is cheating. There are many ways to cheat if that is what you want to do.

Try to control yourself.

The fact that there are many ways of cheating, and that all of us daily chess players should control ourselves is well-established. There is really no need to discuss that.

But that the chess.com software allows it, and that you now can access this tool from your game with two clicks of the mouse is what is new here. It sends out the wrong signal imo, and contradicts with all the great efforts that chess.com is putting out to prevent cheating.

We are releasing some tools today to make it more difficult.

But still possible

It will never be impossible. Even if we removed engines completely from Chess.com it takes 2 seconds to google search another place that has them.

We are just trying to protect against people accidentally seeing the eval.

Then we have a whole department of people dedicated to catching those that cheat.

I get that theres engines on chess.com for after game analysis, but for during the game that automatically load and evaluate your current position doesnt make sense to me. What purpose does that serve?

You can't analyze a position from you daily game right now.

I think I've noticed that when I was trying to go from the opening explorer back to the self analysis for daily games. I would expect that button to go back to self analysis when you're looking at a daily game.
