puzzle quality

Some of the chess puzzles seem to be based on bad counter play and one cannot solve a puzzle keeping in mind less optimal moves. I suggest a rating system where players on the web or app, can rate a puzzle. then if some puzzles have bad statistics to remove them.

This is a common misconception about puzzles. When you are presented with a puzzle on Chess.com, then there is exactly one good move in the position. Regardless of how the computer responds, that was still the best move.

For most of the puzles that is, but not for all, there are a few low quality puzzles

You should report those.

My guess is that in 99% of these cases you are simply wrong.

Yes I have had some puzzles where your correct move is only because of its next move which not even i would make as it practically ends the game there and then. And you make the wrong move because the correct move is more difficult if it had have played a different move. Not sure if I'm getting myself across there but some puzzles are just wrong

The first move you make should always be best in the position, regardless of the reply. Some responses are used to test specific patterns.

lichess takes actual games and tests for the best solution. I like both approaches.

Most of the puzzles here come from real games too, at least the initial positions.

That used to be included in the PGNs here and still might be on some puzzles
