You're still going to get a range. That's always been the case.

Even with extra hard they will still give random levels of puzzles very rarely repeating ones

The range has always been the case. Also, the site has re-rated all the puzzles in the backend and the puzzle algorithm is selecting them based on that rating. The UI hasn't been updated yet to show those ratings but is happening in the near future.
Why have chess puzzles suddenly become absurdly easy? Have shot up to 2800 rating but the puzzles are nowhere as difficult as just a couple of weeks ago when I struggled to pass 2400

Something has definitely changed recently. I can't explain why I'm suddenly getting inundated with low-rated puzzles which don't give me any benefit, but every time I miss one I lose 17-20 points...
Like, why am I getting 200 rated puzzles when I'm rated 2000?
same stuff, i don't know why they changed it. i didn't see any publicity about the change too but maybe it is just me. i prefered the old style, it was dynamic, now setting to a certain level feels weird

I prestiged Standard and Hard and am currently doing Extra Hard and have found no discernable difference between Hard and Extra Hard. If anything, Extra Hard has been easier. All puzzles seem to be rated in the 1600-1800 range but the solve rate varies widely. Odd.

And today, I'm sure coincidentally, I'm getting puzzles with ratings all over the place. 600 - 3000.
As someone else correctly mentioned, Puzzles has become a trash bin. It used to be a useful and fun training tool.
In addition to the difficulty slider needing to go away, and the puzzle ratings being a mess...
...has anyone else noticed that the % pass rate / # attempts that's shown after completing a puzzle is also broken? It's been showing incorrect stats 100% of the time, for about 6 months now. (The only way to see the correct stats is to click on a puzzle's permalink.) I reported this as a bug but got no reply.
