Replace my opponent with a bot when they resign

Wouldn't it be cool if when your opponent resigns you could continue the game (against a bot)? Your opponent would be replaced by a bot of a similar rating.

Many times my opponent resigns either out of boredom or because we've reached the endgame and I have more pawns, but I want to continue playing to see how I'm going to use the pawns to win. So with this feature the bot replaces my opponent and I get to keep playing.

You can sort of already do that. Go into the game archive of your game and then go to the analysis. Near the bottom right is an icon of a target with an arrow in it (next to the share icon) and this is Practice vs Computer. You can then finish the game versus the computer for practice if you want.

Yeah, actually i got a DM from a staff member providing this link explaining how to do that:

I guess my suggestion then would be to make it simpler for the user, so for example when an opponent resigns, the modal (pop-up) that appears could have a button labeled "continue vs. a bot". That way the path consists of one click vs. however many the current method requires.

After a resignation or time out, it used to be possible to finish the game against a bot with just one click. But the bot icon has disappeared. Is it possible to bring it back?

You can still do this. Here are the steps:

Method 1: Immediately after a Game:

1) Click the self-analysis icon (magnifying glass) above chat
2) Click the "Last Move" button (or pick whichever move you want)
3) Click the "Practice vs Computer" button (under the Last Move button).

Method 2: (For any previously played games)

1) Go to Learn in the left sidebar
2) Go to Analysis
3) Go to Load Game from History
4) Select the Game you want to play
5) Click the "Last Move" button (or pick whichever move you want)
6) Click the "Practice vs Computer" button (under the Last Move button).

Method 3: (For any previously played games)

1) Go to Play > Game History in the left side bar
2) Click the Game type to the left of the game you want to play (ex. stop watch)
3) Click the Self-Analysis button at the bottom
4) Click the "Last Move" button (or pick whichever move you want)
5) Click the "Practice vs Computer" button (under the Last Move button).

All of these methods should work well for you.
