Reporting someone who's blocking me

What account did you look as I did not give you one? The player is not same as the one who's blocking me now. He was an old opponent that I played in 2022 and got the rating up much quicker than in three years. Biggest jump was between two weeks.

Are you sure that none of the numbers is a typo? Going from 185 to 2200+ "in a very short time" is probably impossible.

If it's a new account the rating can fluctuate pretty wildly.

As I said, the player won and lost games to players with a very low rating. And his account was not new at that point.

I'd like to report [removed -- MS] for abandoning/stalling a game in a loosing position. He blocked me before I could report him.

Public accusations are not allowed. You can report members that block you using the Help option in the menu. That said, players that habitually do that get restricted automatically

I'd like to report someone but the report button doesn't show because they blocked me before I could report them.

You can’t. Unfortunately, [removed] others will continue to abuse this loophole until it’s fixed, if at all.

Just 2 posts above you Martin has explained how to do it. Does it not work for you?

@magipi, the explanation from Martin doesn't work. I tried and couldn't do it. that's why I posted about this once again. This is definitely a loophole in the system. Anyone may abuse or abandon games numerous times then block the victim, so that they are not reported. It's absurd and unfare. No way to hold abusers accountable for their actions if all they have to do is block you to be assured they're not reported.

Any solution for this loophole yet, @ivanbarzallo. It seems to be an increasing problem. Especially in tournaments this occur. The same guy always winning it, and everyone he suspects have figured him out he is blocking.

ivanbarzallo

@zeTETic_Truth_Tube, I haven't heard anything yet on the matter. I don't play any tournaments so I haven't experienced it in tournaments, but it doesn't surprise me that your seeing evidence of this activity. The only way to get someone to do something about it is to continue posting about incidents here. Hopefully, someone at chess.com will bring this up with someone who could actually do something about it. Thanks for posting your experience. Let's keep posting so that someone will do something about it.
