Resign while in review mode

I have just inadvertently resigned a won game by accidentally touching the resign button. This is about the sixth time and is very annoying. There is no reason for the resign button to be activated during players analysis.

Is there anyway of removing or disabling this?

So frustrating to resign won games - I am ready to give up this site.

There is a confirm resignation button in settings.

I agree: the resign and draw buttons should not be present during analysis mode for Daily games.  Their presence there is just silly, and is clearly poor design.  Sadly they've been there so long that I am not optimistic about them being removed.

I absolutely agree! It happened to me also sometimes. Especially when I use my tablet. This is more than annoying. I also maid a thread about it, but can´t find it any more. I wrote to the stuff - no answer. But I strongly recomend to write to them. If enough people do this, maybe they change their minds. Like in the case, when they just puttet the ratings 100 and more points higher from one day to the next. Literally hundreds of people wrote to the stuff and made threats here in the forum and it took I think only three days, then they rowed back.

And a practical tip: When I go to the analysis site for an ongoing game, first I go in flight mode. It´s a bit cumbersome, but since then I never had this resigning problem.

@justbefair: It does not help! I have it on, but it seems that it sometimes really happens nevertheless. I don´t know why, but maybe if you are to quick, the finger tips two times on the spot or something else. But to have the comfirm mode on is NOT enough!

I also just did this in a completely winning endgame, not happy. The problem I see is that the "Confirm Resign" button that pops up is way too close to the "Resign" button and is very easy to misclick both when just flipping through moves with the move arrows. The easy solution would be to just move the "confirm resign" button to somewhere completely different than the resign button, like have it pop up in the middle of the board or something.

As I have written elsewhere, resign button next to arrows in analysis is not great design (have already hit it by accident twice) and one line per variation would help in cleaner aesthetic analysis on analysis board.

what does that mean? the problem is that you already resigned without any chess reasons. it's only by accident - and by a bad design of chess.com.

I also accidentally resigned a winning game when doing analysis. I have the confirm resignation button on but it pops up on top of the initial button and I accidentally double clicked. Was really unfortunate but I am being super careful now! Would be nice if the confirm resignation button was moved onto the top of the actual chess board instead though so you actively have to move your mouse over there to confirm.

Yes, I agree. These Button is totaly useless at the analysis board as well as the draw button. It is really enough if these buttons are on the chess board you really play. I will read once more to the stuff.

Did it!

Here is my text I send to the stuff:

When playing on an mobile device it is very possible to resign by mistake! It regularly happens when one is on the analysis board (daily games) and wants to hit the back button. but the resign button is exactly under the back button and so it happens. And yes, even when you have the confirm function on! Have a look here:

I ask you therefore to remove these resign and draw buttons totally from the analysis side. What is it good for there? If one think he/she/it has to resign it´s not such an effort to go back to the actual board and resign there. Thank you.

I have an idea - make an option where instead of "confirm resign", you have to actually type out the word "resign". That way no one will ever resign accidentally. This is especially useful in daily games where you look and interact with a board for extended periods of time.

That´s a fine Idea! Write it to the stuff.
