Would also love to see this implemented on the chess.com app. In the meantime, the Lichess app works perfectly for this.
You can, but it’s more convenient to hold just one device, especially if you got a 12.9 inch iPad and you’ve got plenty of screen real estate

Guys, I figured the only way to split ipad screen for chess.com and other stubborn apps is to use browser e.g Chrome instead of using the android or iOS installed apps.
Almost all iOS games do not support split-view.
Would love to be able to watch YouTube while playing chess.com without having to bring out a second device… wow, I just read that back and does that ever sound like a crybaby first world problem. I often talk to my kids about appreciating the things they have since we live in Canada and have a better life than 99.99% of all people who have ever lived, and here I am whining about split screen. I’ll be ok if they don’t implement it. Cheers…
iPad has this interesting feature where two apps can be run in a split view.
Unfortunately can’t do this with chess.com iOS app or even on chess.com website, otherwise would be a great way to read a kindle ebook on the iPad. Read the book in one part of the screen and play out the moves in the analysis board on chess.com app.
Any chance chess.com might introduce this in near future ? With screen sizes increasing for tablets, this could be a much in demand feature in future.
Interestingly the only apps which work in split view perfectly are forward chess and Gambit Studi app. Not of much use..
