I am not fond of getting paired up against someone from Iran, since Iran is an enemy of my country. Please add an option to restrict opponents to only your country of origin!

As an American one of my most enjoyable games I've played was against a player from Iran. There was no war cries or any smack talk. Our game play did the talking. In the end we both admitted to enjoying.

That would be like me being a registered Independent refusing to play Republicans and Democrats.

You don't always have to be angry. Let your game do the talking.

Iranians chant Death to Americans.

They hate you.

They fund terrorism.

The people.

Not even the government, the actual people you are forced to play against hate you and wish death upon you.

Political parties in the USA has zero comparison to a bunch of Iranians.

What the hell is wrong with some of you?

Terrorist sympathizers.

Republicans chanting lately "Lock her up" against Pelosi who is 1 million times more honest that your president.

The United States has at various times in recent history provided support to terrorist and paramilitary organizations around the world. It has also provided assistance to numerous authoritarian regimes that have used state terrorism as a tool of repression.

United States support for non-state terrorists has been prominent in Latin America, the Middle-East, and Southern Africa. From 1981 to 1991, the United States provided weapons, training, and extensive financial and logistical support to the Contra rebels in Nicaragua, who used terror tactics in their fight against the Nicaraguan government. At various points the United States also provided training, arms, and funds to terrorists among the Cuban exiles, such as Orlando Bosch and Luis Posada Carriles.

I agree with batgirl. The US and Iranian governments might be at odds with one another, but the people are not. However, even according to your logic, if you feel Iran is an "enemy" of your country, you should be playing (and beating) all the Iranians you can get. After all, chess is war and your flag represents your country. A great American patriot like you should be able to defeat all challengers. Isn't that what Bobby Fischer did when Henry Kissinger called on him to be a patriot and fight the Russians?

Ever heard of a boycott? Why play a friendly game with the enemy of your country?

You do realize I'm a US citizen too. You're the one spreading hate bro. Living in mommy's basement, hiding behind a bed sheet, and burning crosses.

I am allowed to say that the country of Iran sponsors terrorism.

The US government declared that.

Many other countries declared that too.

I am a bigot because I stated that Iranian people chant Death to AMERICA??

You say they dont?

What exactly did I say that is bigotry?

Just because you are ignorant or deluded doesnt change the fact Iranians hate you and want you dead.

Just ask one, they will tell you. They wont lie like you are doing

Only the paid members and the extremists in Iran do that, same in the USA in Trump rallies.

Trump is america's best president since Lincoln.   Not to mention Pelosi is more than a little crooked,  sorry to say

How do you know that? You live in Liberia or so, according to your flag

He doesn't know that Trump is a bully and that most of the GOP fear him that is why he is still in power!

In the end, whether or not you people in particular disagree or agree with me that this option should exist is slightly irrelevant. I, and many others, would pay money for this feature. This gives chess.com a reason to implement this feature and maximize their profit. Meanwhile, people who do not want this feature do not have to use it.

Iran may be at odds with the US, but Iranians are good people just as Americans are good people. I, for one, would rather see chess used as a bridge between two countries or two cultures than as something to mutually exclude each other.

That’s cool too, but I do believe that we should have a choice. You have to let people decide for themselves, rather than force one viewpoint. You can play and interact internationally, but I would often rather play with people I understand and can connect with. I’m referring to culture.

Highest rate of poor sports seems to be in a country that incorrectly loves to spout off about being the best. Unfortunate truth
