start at a reasonable rating.

variants are the only reason I even have an account on this website. and there is good reason.

after 13 games I am still 800 points below my rating on my old account. EIGHT HUNDERED. I MIGHT HAVE TO PLAY LIKE 30 GAMES against players 500+ points below my strength just to get to my original rating, which is not enjoyable for either side. is it REALLY necessary to start me at FOUR HUNDERED. few years ago it was at a reasonable 1200, why the stupid change.

Just because you don't care, doesn't mean no one cares. if you want to post something in a forum, add something of value. if you don't have something of value to add, shut up.

In my experience, there also is something odd in the ratings. Some players with rating around 1300 are much stronger players than many players with rating 1800. It is easier to beat, say a 1600 to 1800 player than to break through the barrier of 1200-1300 players among which are some very good players. That confirms your experience where your rating is actually much lower than it should be, but it takes many games before that is adjusted.

Of your last 20 games, you only won 11. It certainly doesn't look like your playing 600 points lower rated opponents.

The most likely explanation is that you are rusty and play worse than you imagine. The second most likely explanation is that you underestimate your opponents and play ultra-carelessly.

If your losing to players 600 points under your old rating then that's your fault unless your morale is destroyed by something irl. If your winning, you should be reaching your old elo quicker.

Not really related to my point. My strength is already about 1600-1800, but it has already taken an absurd number of games to get to just 1300, even when I am winning pretty much every game.

I am talking about blitz, the first time control I played here. Bullet started at 1300ish because I only started playing Bullet after about 30 blitz games, and was therefore much closer to my actual rating. Since I gained like 100-200 points per win as opposed to 10-20 points I currently gain in blitz, I got to 1800 pretty quickly. If you look at my blitz games, I have a much higher score, 32 wins | 2 draws | 1 loss, if I remember correctly, certainly around what you would expect when someone plays players 600-800 points below their level.

The problem is that I am not losing games against people 600 points below my rating, I have still not reached my old elo.
