Stop people from playing bullet, blitz & rapid games while they have vacation enabled in daily games

I'm currently playing against an opponent who is on vacation for a while, and I can clearly see in their chess game records that they have played several games recently, while their daily games are on vacation. I believe this sort of behavior should be considered a kind of vacation abuse, as they clearly do not have to use vacation.

Let me get some things clear about the situation:

My opponent is currently playing 2 games, neither of which is completely losing for them. They are down a pawn, but the situation is still completely winnable. Therefore, this wouldn't come under standard vacation abuse.

According to chess.com support,

Vacation abuse occurs when players use vacation time simply to prolong games that are completely and hopelessly lost.

My opponent is unnecessarily prolonging the game, but they are not losing. Still, they are making the game last longer than it would normally.

To solve this problem, I hope chess.com could stop people from playing normal chess while their daily games are in vacation.

You are relatively new to daily chess.   People go on vacation all the time, for all sorts of reasons.

Chess.com doesn't intervene unless one side is clearly losing and using the vacation to stall.

As you have said, that situation doesn't exist in your game.

In your game, the player has only 3 weeks of vacation left.  They will soon be forced to move or lose the game.

I think the op is asking that the definition of vacation abuse be amended to include the odious behavior described above. I completely agree. We can all think of valid reasons to use the vacation feature, but none of them include playing faster time controls every day while forcing opponents in daily games to wait for weeks (or months, in some cases).

Yes I must admit that it is frustrating I travel quite a bit and play longer time controls mostly to avoid frustrating opponents when I I am unable to play

Completely agree with JL9174
I have 2 club tournaments going on and most people play at least a move a day or, at worst, every 3 days.
The same old pattern occurs when 1 player in a group sets vacation and effectively abandons the tournament while still playing in other games. Those tournaments have been running since April and everything stops while these players refuse to play, or withdraw, all while playing elsewhere.

The vaccation feature should automatically turn off for all games, once a player is back online and plays a move in any game. They should be able to reactivate maybe once or twice in a given period, but this needs to be a blanket vacation feature, not just for one game type.

I would even suggest that the vacation feature should reset when they log back in, although that may be too much. Please note, they have 3 Days per move in these games! It is not as if there is time pressure!

The result of all of this is that people who would otherwise want to play in these games are not. Why enter a tournament when they know that some muppet is going to hold everyone else up, and that this behaviour is OK with Chess.com and the admins?
