I've just tried Google Chrome. Same problem as before. Edgs is not available for Linux.

BTW, as it was the first time I accessed chess.com using Chrome, there were no cookies to be deleted, or cache to be cleaned, that could have caused the issue.

Not really. Physical pieces don't look any different on a physical board. They're not really oriented differently.
Many people don't play over-the-board chess. For you maybe but in the grand scheme of things 10% is smaller than 90% ...

Actually, in some ways they are. There should be a setting for knights. What your setting is impacts how the Knight look both on your board and your opponents. There should be 6 options:
Forward
Inward
Outward
Both left
Both right
Cockeyed
It started an hour ago. The problem only affects the variants.
