Timer to move or you will be auto-resigned is a horrendous idea

Hello there,

I just played a 3+2 game, I was in a very difficult position so I spent around 1 min 20 seconds to think my move, I still had over a minute left in my clock AND I have the 2 second increment, so I can think ALL my 3 minutes and I will still be able to play the game.

But apparently Chess.com believes I am not entitled to my time, how dare I right? How dare I assume that I could actually think 3 minutes in a 3 minute + 2 sec game? I know, I'm a really delusional guy. 

Luckily Chess.com set me straight by SHOOTING ME WITH A 10 SECOND TIMER SAYING I WILL AUTO-RESIGN IF I DO NOT MOVE WITHIN THAT TIME LIMIT! 

I have over a minute left in my clock AND I have a 2 second per move increment and you sabotage my game with this BS? Who came up with this? WHO? And who okayed it??

I understand what you tried to do, you tried to prevent people from stalling on purpose, but you can't do it at the expense of a player just using his time to think a difficult position. Well, you can, but if you keep it this way you will never see me again.

I know I am a nobody, but I am a person who has never once cheated in chess not even for 1 move, so I'd say I bring value to the 2300+ rapid pool and 2200+ blitz pool. So you have the ball now, either change this ridiculous BS or  bye bye.

Obviously those rules are horrible if they result in a scenario I just described. I'm a tournament chess player, I expect the same level of rules online, if Chess.com doesn't provide them, I will happily leave this site for you.

I never asked for that ultimate sacrifice

There is a long move timer for the second through tenth move. You can't use more than half the base time for those moves. You can use all the time you have left afterwards.

It's in place due to too many abandoning games after a blunder in the opening, or trying to wait until the last seconds to make a move, hoping the opponent isn't paying attention.
