Thank you! I had done a search of the forums but nothing came up. Probably because I searched for "verification" instead of "verified".

Premium memberships get access to site features. Verified was a method to gain access to prize events and preferred pairings with other verified members.

In the first class part of chess.com, you can opt to play only other first class players.

Not exclusive pairings but preferred. That was going to be one of the perks of being verified but is only really useful if a petty large number of members do it.
