Why are israeli flags allowed on chess.com, while Russian are greyed out?

Just curious as to the hypocrisy of greying out the Russian flag while the Israeli flag isn't. If this is an apolitical place, no flags should be banned. Or, all nations committing war crimes should also be banned including any nations currently committing genocide or invading others, including the US for their invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. If anyone knows of any equivalent Chess platforms that aren't hypocritically politically banning flags I'm plenty of us in this community would like to explore those options.

The difference is Isreal was attacked in 1 war. Russia was the attacker in the other war. happy " I'm plenty of us in this community would like to explore those options". And you can, but its in a different thread..... try "Open Discussion". https://www.chess.com/clubs/search?pattern=Open+Discussion&sort=CLUBS_ORDER_BY_OPTION_BEST_MATCH

But you knew that....surprise.....you've been here for 12 yrs.

Woops looks like it is the wrong place. I’ll reach out to support directly.

Quick response: Unfortunately that is fallacy of incomplete evidence. If we use the timeline you propose, Israeli provocations render that explanation void.

I see my mistake though, I had assumed Chess.com is governed on a moral/ethical framework, but it absolutely makes sense that it would be a political/pragmatic framework.

I think today or yesterday marked the 58,000 Palestinian civilian death in Gaza. That's some kind of accomplishment, I guess.

Withholding food & water and bombing hospitals is a weird way to try to get back hostages. Some would mistake these for war crimes or genocide.
