Why are simple mate-in-1s rated so high in puzzles?

I used to enjoy the puzzles a lot, but bc a third of them are simple mate-in-1s with seemingly arbitrarily high ratings, my rating has gone up way higher than it should, and so anytime I get a puzzle that isn't a mate-in-1, the puzzle is lightyears beyond what I'm capable of comprehending. Since the simple mate-in-1s are a third of the puzzles, my rating never really goes down either, so I'm stuck in an unfun limbo of low effort mate-in-1s, or shrugging and failing at some gigabrain 6-move trade that wins a bishop.

I didn't look at the specific puzzles in your history. It looks like 10 of the last 25 may have been mate in 1.

At lower rating levels there will likely be a lot of short puzzles, some should be mates and some are likely hanging pieces.

I think you might've missed the main point. A 1000 rating puzzle in almost any other category seems leagues more difficult than a 1000 rating mate in 1, which causes your puzzle rating to inaccurately reflect your skill level, causing what I mentioned above, the inflated-rating mate-in-1s keep you from falling while you fail at every other category, crushing the fun of puzzles.
I'm not trying to complain about the frequency of the mate-in-1s, just how they are rated and their impact on your rating in puzzles. And they are important to get down and I do enjoy them, but I want to be able to enjoy ALL puzzle categories.

Puzzles get their rating based on players solving them. So if a puzzle is at a certain rating it generally means that players near the rating must be solving it and failing it relatively evenly.

If it's one that has a 80+ solve rate, it might be too high rated.

Guess I just have a knack for mate-in-1s then, will just have to do custom puzzles at a lower rating to play catch up in the other categories. I appreciate you taking the time to explain how puzzles are rated.
