Add a "+1" button to save time? Is that it? Pay for a "-1" button?? Absolutely hilarious!

+1

(Notice how I didn't use a special button.)

Was making one of these soon: http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2011/04/the-awesome-button.html

Think I know what I'll make it do now.

Kernicterus

Or it can be a little thumbs up button...I think they already have the graphic.  just a tiny one next to the "quote" link.  pretty please.

Elona
I hope they add a +1 button. The process of pressing keys is very tiresome, and anything to help with this important issue will be favourably accepted by all keyboard users.

I am not in favor of the minus one button as I can see it gettign abused, so in restricting it to premium members, I was trying to reduce  that, but I'm still not in favore of it.

If this was implemented, then maybe they could get extra member points, one per '+1'? Then you could click on the member points to see a breakdown of how many were posts and how many were thumbs ups.

Kernicterus

One thing I've learned in my short time on this site is that premium members are no better behaved than the cheapskates.

Scratch the premium members idea, then.

how about a x1 button?

Melodic_Minor

divide by 1 would be good too

ilikeflags

I'm in favour of anything that provides me extra opportunity to call something stupid.

Way too tame (imo).

How about:  sound effects?  If you liked a post, you'd so indicate by leaving a pleasant 'sound' for other visitors to hear.

Similarly, if you disliked a post, you could leave a not so pleasant sound.

This would leave the hearing-impaired out of the equation

And we all know deaf people are better than blind people. Noises and a button?

Pthbphthbplus 1.

There are two things that I use chess.com for every day: correspondence chess (CC) and the forums. CC is great and I'm glad that the forums now work with ie9 (internet explorer 9), but I do think the forums could be improved in one way.

I would suggest adding a '+1' or 'Like' or 'Vote Up!' button to posts in a topic. I do realize that this could be abused if there were (was?) an equivelent 'dislike' button, but I don't think a 'dislike' button is necessary. If you don't like a post, just move on!

Optionally this feature could also be applied to an entire topic, but I would most like it to be implemented as stated above. Another possibility (If you really want a 'dislike' button) would be to restrict disliking something to premium members. I'm still against the dislike button, but this is a legitimate possibility.

Thank you for taking the time to read my topic. I would appreciate it if you would take my suggestions into consideration. Thank you.
