aborting games because board is inorrect

sometime when i log on one of pawns or pieces is missing and placed amongst the opposition pieces

now  i'm getting message not to abortor i'll be penalized??

'new' ? Is on your computer "f5" button and be sure to clear your caches.

Here we go... I reported such problem once before (month or so ago) but nobody took it seriously. Yes, there is a bug where one or more pieces appears on the wrong side of the board, I see it maybe every few months.

And as far as "refresh", I did that once and it resulted in losing by resignation, even though I never touched resign button. I just refreshed the screen.

Which browers are you using ? Note: stay away from IE.

Chrome. Not sure about the guy who started this post. And as I posted in my own post about this same problem, it appears that the other player saw the same thing. Can't be sure, didn't ask, but he easily agreed to a draw when he was clearly winning. So at this time my first guess would be that this is NOT a browser issue. But it is definitely happening. Next time I see it I'll try to do a screen shot.

I can confirm this has happened to me, but only once.  So...it is not impossible.  I started a game and my king was on the square with my opponents queen.  Not in check, not mated, just on the wrong square.  I aborted the game.  I almost never abort games so I'm sure I have some saved up.  Anyway, it can happen.

try firefox. it has never messed up on me.

Your problem does exist, but some people never get it and some people (like me) have only seen it once...it probably is something on your end.  I would try another browser or at least reinstall the current one.

This happens to me like once a week and I use Safari. Seems like anytime I get on this site something is glitching out be it live chess, TT, articles, or the forum. Hell my text box is flashing and showing only pieces of what Ive wrote as I type this. This is the only site that ever gives me any problems and its incredibly annoying.

I GOT IT!!! you can see a white king on d8 (under the black Queen, but let's not talk about that). The point is, the board appears wrong!!!

No is not, the board appear correct.

But he was soo young... seriously, white king is on the opposite side of the board, doing hanky-panky with black queen. I might not be an expert, but that appears to be wrong.... on several levels. Will anyone take this issue seriously?
