Have not read any comments.  Friday night, 10pm, 5 brews deep and heading out!  If I come back here in the early am, I did not get "lucky".

jus use one of the classic chess chat-up lines.

I suggest:  'if you get into the right possition, then i'll show you how to mate'

It would be cool if we had two arenas to choose from when having a match:  One

sober and one smashed!

GAFU!

Please explain your "coolness" to those of us that have lost loved ones to drunk drivers.

Never heard of someone got killed by a pissed chess player, playing chess on the net.I am sorry that you lost someone but your remark has nothing to do with this forum.

I can't play chess with or without drinking so why not JUST DRINK!

You're posting in the public forums.  That makes it everyone's business.

I'm breaking my rule.  Seemed justified to me.

Then by proxy you and Gorilla have become my business/.

My uncle owns a shot glass chess set in whic h the pieces are cups with the figures of the piece it represents imprinted on it. Whenver you capture a piece, you must drink the liqour inside of it.

Just reading the last few posts as I HOP (no pun intended) into the "late night" arena after a few!  Lokaz, where can I find that set??

It might be wise to have a match with members in my time zone at the momemt!

Personally, I find that alcohol helps me.  In moderation, of course.  Many times I have been in positions that scare me but with the help of alcohol (& the analysis board) I find options I never would have thought of under the influence of fear. Let me close with a favorite quote of mine from the film Casablanca.  When the nazi major questions Rick's nationality Bogie replys "I'm a drunkard"  To which Claude Raines says "That makes Rick a citizen of the world." . Well said! Maybe Van Gogh heard the word "Checkmate" out of the wrong ear...

First game "best win"!

Avatar of GafuA-708

At my highest ranking 2nd match!

Avatar of GafuA-708

I am doing quite well.  Only loss so far is ranked a couple hundred lower than me.  NEVER underestimate your opponent!  I agree, this is too fun when drinking!  You come home from the club, no luck, and you think you gottta conquer "something", LOL!!

Avatar of GafuA-708

1295 to 1353 in 38 minutes!!!

See what happens when you use the power of "positive thinking"!

Avatar of GafuA-708

And no abortions either!!!  I play ALL, unless I remember you as one of the "clockplayers"!

Not to toot my horn, but talk about "talking the talk and walking the walk"!
