I'm posting this from V3 using the Edge browser; Firefox won't work properly on V3, in particular there are no icons at the bottom of the left hand bar for Menu at Top, old Chess.com etc...

To report a Bug, it seems you have to take a screenshot, which is no use as the problem is in a different browser.

What a bag.

Firefox works fine if you are on a reasonably newer version.

No it doesn't, I'm using version 48.0 on the latest Windows; what else can you "suggest"?

What plugins do you have installed? If you have an ad-blocker then the code for the bug report likely won't work. I've seen that happen on another topic. Clearing your cache may help.

I'm using the Developer's version (49.0a2) on the machine I'm currently on and things work great. I can check on my other machine too, which doesn't have that version to double check but I don't expect problems.

why has it taken over 2 years and not even happened yet?

Because they've wanted to get it right as much as possible and invested a LOT of time &  resources doing so. They are NOT going to release V3 and then have to go "#%$, we need to revert to V2 because X is broken and we didn't think about that."

As I said, if all of the people complaining about particular things were to start using V3 regularly and reporting them as bugs, that would help get those issues addressed in V3 - it's a metric that I know that Erik is looking closely at and influencing his decision as to when V3 goes live. Be specific about what isn't working for you! Report it! See Chess.com listen to your feedback and action it! It's converted Solskytz - see his post #185!

Staying back in V2 and taking pot shots at V3 from "over the fence" is not really helping matters.

thanks for your reasoned response, appreciated. but you first need to ask yourselves why alot of people aren't spending much time in v3.

A lot of people don't like change, not matter what. And it takes some effort to change to v3 so only those really interested in testing or that want to play one of the Live variants are moving over in numbers. There have been quite a few topics with people not being in v3 and asking to get back (and a few in the other direction too).

I will agree in one group I admin for probably only 20% are using v3 but don't know how many people are using it overall. It's all I use, with one exception because one thing isn't currently available (related just to that group) and I will switch over sometimes to answer forum questions.

Martin, is the petition group having any affect?! 41 people join in the past 12 hours. The only thing holding us back are the invites.

I can only make an educated guess but I would say that it will won't impact getting rid of v2 but may drive some changes in v3, depending on how constructive the criticisms are.

The group created in 2012 to keep the old design back then didn't keep it either.

No. Last post I saw by erik said the current plan, at that time, was that v3 would become the default site. v2 would have to be switched to, until it goes away.

Undecided There's A LOT of people who come here only for chess. When you make that switch, its gonna be like culture shock to them.

You'll probably destroy the forums if you remove "Most Recent Posts" from the forums.

BISHOP_e3

I automatically clear my cookies when I'm in V3

I don't have groups with a lot of customization. You can check it out now to see what it looks like in v3. You can currently customize your background and group image. That is all and has been for a while.

Oh it is bad. I was hoping there was something that I was doing wrong.

I have to say that I was using V3 earlier today on a borrowed chromebook; and it was a completely different experience. But I'm a FireFox user. There are plenty FireFox users out there. Screen shots, words beside icons, these little things that made it different than what I'm doing now (and somehow expected until I got home and launched it); what's up with that?

No you can't it doesn't work. A member of staff tried to do it for me.It still didn't work.Eric sent me a message. I replied and sent him the picture. He said he didn't get it because the servers compress data( Read: it still didn't work).

Senior-Lazarus_Long

If you invite players to a tournament, they don't get the description, only a link. That's poor.

xming

I used to get notifications about VC games.  Now I don't.  I'm still in v2.  So what's the problem?
