If I just want to do some tactics or play some games, the app is better. Fot social things, the site.
And the V2 Classic Chess.com app did just that... perfectly well. The V3 app seems to want to do everything. Indeed it does have a 'Forums' and 'Articles' link... its just that there's no easy path to Club Articles or Club Forums or Club Notes. ... if one is going to go so far as to include those links in to the App, why stop there? Why not go the whole enchilada and toss in Club activities as well?
I don't know. I haven't been on the Classic app for a long time. I know some of the things weren't even part of the app and just loaded the browser anyway.
I'm guessing the app isn't supposed to be a full site replacement, especially in the newer version. Makes for a smaller app with fewer things to update. It could also be they are waiting for the changes to settle down before implementing.
As I've mentioned before, the staff here need to have a Staff Retreat pow-wow somewhere and have a few philisophical discussions, & look back at all that's tanspired with V2 & V3.
New bugs: can't accept challenges. Can't accept friend requests. Bug reporter has never worked. Browser support is condtional on having only the "right" extensions.
All this, or course, as well as the slowness (anyone else seeing the beach ball on OS X?) is "a problem at my end."
I suspect when my current subsciption is up I'll slink away quietly.
V3 is not ready for beta testing, never mind the wider use that is encouraged.
Grump, grump, grump.
ollave
I tried everything to get Firefox to work, but to no avail.
I installed Opera and that seems OK on V3, so if we're forced to switch I at least have a means of accessing my games.

What version? I use Firefox on my full machines, not mobile, and don't have issues. And what exactly didn't work?

Version 48.0.2.
We had this discussion before, see Posts #'s 133, 138 and 139.

Have you tried in private mode? Or by launching the browser with all plugins off? In an earlier v3 update I had a problem with the site caused by something in my Firefox profile that ended up being fixed by deleting the profile and letting the browser recreate it.
Martin, I'm closing my account. Good night, and thanks for all the fish.
I burnt out from IT support years ago. Not going back to it.
Edit: Resetting the browser, updating the OS and over multiple months trying an alternate browser was no good. chess.com is busted, an nobody who works for the company cares.
Staff cares. That's why bugs keep getting fixed. And v3 is still receiving changes and isn't currently the default site (missed my last date guess for that).
Ok then
OK
Fine.
FINE!
Goodnight
GOODNIGHT!
I'll be leaving now
GET LOST!
Okie-dokey
YOUR MOTHA!
Well this is embarrasing.
I can argue with myself in V2, but not in V3 ?
