'Carrying' pieces

In view of the secondary (unnescessary, disruptive) discussion in the thread http://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/when-to-exchange-queens2 , I couldn't help but speculate whether it'd be possible to apply a users private setting globally on the site.

For example: Let's say user A likes a specific set of pieces, but user B has difficulties seeing those pieces/prefers another set, wouldn't it be grand if user B's choice of pieces were to follow him wherever he goes on the site?

I'm not familiar with the programming language in which the diagrams/puzzles are made, so not sure if it's at all possible to 'carry' preferences for the individual user.

A cookie or a script or... forgive me, all I know is basic actionScript and HTML. :)

Not a bad idea.

This would be great if it's possible to code. Currently I'm too lazy to even change my piece settings (separately) for tactics trainer and suffer from it every time.
