I had all but giving up on the News ....it's rough City now...

euf

I questioned the new changes back to last year ! insane changes , just $$ concern , I was almost removed by Ronin for strongly arguing this stupid move and asking for middle ground with the users as me , the mastermind ??? I was save by Rikers .

DoctorStrange

My group, chess lovers could have easily brought 50-70 (!) People into TMs with the old news system. Now we can only bring 20-30 people. :((

I WANT THE OLD FEATURE BACK !!!,

TyrantTick

I totally agree that it should be brought back! My monthly newsleters for the CHT are now only getting 10 reads, compared to previous 40-50 reads! This is NOT GOOD as I spent ages writing those articles!!

barnacle_bill

Go with what was working... The old way was... Please have it back...

Hartsteen

This change in the News from PM to notification is not working at all, when only 10 of a group of more than 700 read important information.

Please change it back!

Bogor

This is clearly problematic for those of us organising TM competitions. Anything that makes it more difficult for team admins to organise TMs compounds many times over for those of us organising TM competitions.

To save big/difficult matches you have to send lots of personal messages

cause noone is informed about the news. You cannot do that all the time-

it's too much work for the admins and it will annoy a lot of members

after a while. Groups with admins who are unwilling to spend a lot of

overtime for these private messages fall more and more asleep, members

think their admins have lost interest in their group - cause they don't

know about the problem - and it's nearly impossible to imform them!

As a consequence of this situation it becomes more and more difficult

to find an opponent for a big/difficult match - but I don't want to offer

my big groups lots of matches on 10 boards or even much less -

we need the old news system back!

gbrown057

I agree. Bring back the old system!

RuneTonseth

I have tried to point out this several times. Groups are actually dying now. Its has to come back as before. Admins have several groups and dont have time to PM all members into matches. NEWS alert back as message. If chess.com have stats on amount of online chess matches since april they will see a drop down. Im certain.

ChristineCrystalline

I also want the old system back :)

FriendshipMelody

I prefer the old system. Much better than the new!

Bilbo21

I definitely agree it's was better the old way, sent in a message.  As a member of several teams, I never minded getting extra messages and think it works better.

PLEASE BRING THIS FEATURE BACK

JamieDelarosa

What is worse, my ability to post news became disabled about a year ago.  I have submitted technical issue tickets.  I can draft a news item, preview it, save it, but it will not post.

I just assumed V3 was drawing all the manpower.

chess2Knights

Agreed. Go back to the old system.

ChristopherBtrapper

I would like the old way to come back

Deathwi5h

It would be nice to here a staff perspective!

etymologynerddotcom

news shoud have a pop-up message on a member's home screen, in my opinion

the old system should definitely be brought back if that's not possible

"... now only getting 10 reads, compared to previous 40-50 reads!" (#29)

It is much worse now than above statement would indicate as most read message as PM in the way it used to work... you only needed to click on link for online version if you wished to comment.

Now we have to click on several links before you can read the news and from the numbers we can see that people do not do that.
