Issue: There are 378 Chess Videos and we need a useful roadmap for navigating the videos.
Analysis:
(1) The search box is not an effective means for finding my way through the videos.
(2) The almost 100 video tags, while an effective topical index, are not the functional equivalent of a table of contents or outline for navigating the videos.
(3) The alphabetical list, while also useful as an alphabetical index, suffers from a similar shortcoming.
(4) The ability to sort by author, while also useful for finding videos in a series by a single presenter, is not a guide through the subject matter.
(5) The video of the day spotlight on the front page is great and should stay.
Conclusion:
A table of contents should be created for the Chess Videos that, much like the table of contents in a book, would allow someone to view a subject matter or thematic organization of the material and work their way through the videos in a logical order or skip to pertinent sections that group videos together.
The physical organization of the Chess Videos need not change because a table of contents can be created with simple links and a static “back to table of contents” button for ease of navigation.
Thanks for reading.
