Combine Conditional Moves and Analysis Boards

I sent a support ticket to the staff with a link to the thread, so hopefully someone will give some sort of response.

Because?

I've never, in over 1000 games, managed to 'accidentally analyse on a conditional board'. I don't think that's a common problem. Basically this suggestion consists of a number of elements:

1. Use the system currently in place when inserting game diagrams, which allows for multiple lines, for the analysis board as well. This would mean all the possibilities and nuances you find when analysing one day could be saved for future, so you don't forget anything. At the moment all there is for this is the notes feature, which is next to useless.

2. Also combine with this upgraded analysis board the conditional moves feature. The danger you talk about of accidentally saving bad lines as conditional moves, thus managing to beat yourself, could be overcome quite easily by making this additional step optional (not automatic as the current conditional board is). It could be necessary, for example, to highlight the moves you want to save as conditional and save them as such.

Personally I'm not particularly bothered about the conditional moves, but I think it would be a fairly straightforward thing to implement the features available in the 'insert game' option into the analysis board, so we can save lines and sub variations for later reference.

analisis and conditional moves are two seperate things. I like it the way it is. I sure hope we get to vote on it.

If you review the suggestion closely you'll see that the analysis board would work exactly as it always has for those that don't care to use the conditional "Submit Line" feature -- they might not even notice the change.

I also don't see any reason they couldn't leave the current clumsy conditional moves interface in place, however it does leave them with two separate interfaces to maintain, especially if they get into some of the other suggestions like transposition recognition and merging lines or wildcard conditions.  Frankly, though, I don't know why anyone would still want to use the old interface if this were in place.

This will be reviewed for possible implementation into future releases, no promises Smile

i think the conditianal moves should not autosave but have a "save line" button that saves the line and before you save it you can go back easily and edit the line. Also when you are using the conditional move window and the opponent makes a move the conditional move window goes all glitchy. That should be fixed.

Just want to say that I support the ideas in this thread, and would love to see them implemented asap. FWIW, I can certainly see this functionality making a premium membership MUCH more tempting to me.

I haven't seen this implemented yet -- you promised!

I don't see why this is so hard. Most of the features we're talking about already exist in the insert diagram part of the site. Can't they just be transposed into the Analysis Board?
