since computers playing chess are a fact of life, why not create a special section similar to live chess where man & machine are allowed to partner. the limitation being the man must decide when and what to move. This would allow people to experiment with their machines and test various opening strategies, code tweaks, and program configurations etc.
I don't know about in Live chess but I know you can do it in Online/daily/correspondence. The thing is is must clearly be marked as such so both players are aware and can not be rated.
