Just look at a sample of hot topics listed:

It's not everyday you see so many, but everyday you see at least a few topics started or continued, suggesting that not all is well in Paradise. Today seems to have been rather exceptional. I'm guessing Gambit-Man's not the only one with 'connection' issues as some monkeyswithguns like to suggest.
Spacebus... I'll take it over Spacebud. ..as long as I get to drink coffee.
An 'E' way.
IT people are some of the most hard-headed folk there are on the planet. Every IT grad coming out of school that purports itself to be near the top of the IT feeder-chain comes with an ingrained sentiment that what he/she has been taught IS nothing short of the most beneficial programming methods and constructs known to man. Second only to God himself. And God doesn't code much. So, they appear on the scene, fresh out of school, fully confident that what they now know will be as sellable as snake oil. All they need to do is find someone gullible enough to hire them out at $65~$200 / hour for a project, and they will bestow the world with the graces of their programming prowess.
Farbeit for someone to point out they have little to no concept of real-world business issues or marketing skills. But, that does not phase them one iota. Just look at Mark Zuckerberg... or any of the other rich Millenials that have made $$$$ off of a newly fashioned internet idea. Heck, just cyphon off of Facebook's success and let the payments just roll on in.
Who cares that Twitter has lowered revenue forecasts year-after-year? Just hitch your wagon to the coat-tails of Facebook and let their momentum just deliver bundles of money to your door without even asking. You know somewhere, that same someone, in that same coffee shop conversation with Erik a while ago probably whispered those sweetest of three letters in to his ears: ...I ...P ...O. And that was it. The death of chess.com as we knew it had been uttered.
@Chungle -- the growing ignorance you speak of ... its amazing to witness the increbidle power it holds over so many these days. You can throw datum upon datum, factoid upon factoid at these people and it will not sway their motivation or take their eyes off the prize for a second. We're now months in to v3 being the main of chess.com. STAFF will whisper to you, yeah... we know v3 isn't perfect, but hey, its where chess.com is going. How many staff were brave enough to tell the Capt. of the Titanic that it might behoove them to slow down a bit in the icy waters of the north Atlantic? Even after 1,000s of comments in this "Off Topic" conversation alone, few seem emboldened enough to approach Erik with real suggestions to correct the sinking ship. Flank speed. We'll show those icebergs who's boss!!
