My recommendation is to try V3 for a month and then see what V2 feels like.

I am a fan of V3 BTW

Why chess.com uses spies or totally indifferent members like KoZmaj to ask us to be tortured for one more month in order to learn V3?

(I think you have lost the ball somewhere)

By on-line you mean i play live, not daily games?  Cause i don't see how am I indifferent - maybe V3 is bad for daily chess - I can't tell , cause that kind of chess is not my cop of coffee.
Problem with new designs in general is that some people like it, some don't. You will always have people that don't like something whatever you do.

Other who are talking about bugs - bugs are pretty common things when you develop new features in software - it takes time to make everything work flawlessly.

Everything takes effort to grasp if there are many features and you are new at it. Does chess counts as bad design cause you have to put effort in finding out how to play the game?

@Jessie Coolshot  I really liked your 4th note

cause it was written in a most comprehensive style, better than your two last ones,SmileCool

to tell you the truth after reading your previous two and couldn't understand anything you were my main first suspect for constructing V3 LaughingSealedCoolCool

sorry, just a friendly joke my friend, to add some lightness WinkLaughingCool

We have really tried hard to keep things as similar as possible while also making improvements. If any of you have any issues, cannot find something, or have specific suggestions, use the (?) icon in V3 and send in a suggestion or bug report. I personally see EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE

Erik we all thank you for your care and most of all for creating this marvellous site, thank you for listening to us and I'm sure you can feel us

You are like a chess father to many of us

Hope all this effort will result in keeping V2 for all the members who like it, we all thank you for your love and care

The smileys are looking odd in V3 - remind me on the time of Pacman with low-resolution monitors

I find personally the new version more user friendly, many features are now one click away, not needing to search through the depths of the site. And i like when they are adding new features.  I guess many people don't have the patience to get used to.  My advice is to go through the whole site, click every link and see what is doing.  There is an effort that is needed to put to get used to something new. And maybe that effort is something that some folks find annoying, they just want to play chess, not learning  new interfaces

Funny that we should just want to play chess on a chess site.

I have tried v3, and it has tried me.

No end.

V3 is clearly much better than V2. The only people who seem to be having troubles with V3 are the older generation whose minds are too rusted to get used to change.

You can't really blame them for it.

I like the new one, nevertheless there is problems i want to point at:

- Unlike the old version, in the new version, you can't see the numbers of views in your forums.

- In the settings, the 8-Bit, Dash, Bases, Icy sea and the walnut boards, doesn't work along with the 3D-Beta pieces.

Avatar of nimzomalaysian

Yeah, that's true.

I also miss seeing the posts that I've created when I go to my home page.  Now, I only see the posts created by the people I'm following. I have to navigate to a separate page (My Profile) to view them. And they don't even show the number of views, which is a shame.

If you keep trying may be you'll become older than me SealedCool

To me that i have created many forums the number of views is a must.

Also i have created many themes in V2 but I can't use them anymore

Hey nimzomalayian - I am older and maybe my mind is rusted, but that doesn't mean that my point of view is wrong.

I pay money for a diamond membership to play chess on chess.com v2. I like it.

I don't want to change.

I think, and many agree, that we like v2 better than v3. I don't see why I should be forced to change when I am paying for v2 and I like v2. My age or my rusty mind have nothing to do with it.

Goodness, I really admire you tech savvy guys who know how to post BIG smileys and chess potions and so on. I feel quite humbled. and  that technology has passed me by  and  so on and so forth. I still like V3 (as I have now learned to call it) And still recommend that you all try it for a month to see if you like it. No I am not a robot or a spy for the management. Call me on the phone if you like.

I think it is a luxury that we are still allowed to use V2. Few websites or businesses give you an option. Usually you find out Monday morning, or whenever, that everything has changed.

@nimzomalaysian, you forgot crusty. Old, rusty and crusty people have a hard time adjusting.

Avatar of TheAuthority

P.S. I am still unable (most of the time) to use the quote function in the forums. 😒

crusty too !

These are the only crusty comments I have read in the last 15 pages of this forum Frown  One comes from you and the other one from the staff Undecided

and I wander why do we have to be treated in that offensive and depriving way?

Is it such a crime that we loved this site and we have paid to be members once?

Have you ever paid to be a member chessking?  well, Rocky is paying to be a member and I have paid not only for myself but I have also granted 3 memberships up till now only because I was enthusiastic about the site and I was inspired by the qualitative, attractive, creative, users-friendly V2 platform
